Joint presentation will address breakthrough solution for sports media storage and centralised access

DENVER — 14 June 2018 — Wazee Digital, a leading provider of cloud-native video management and licensing services, today announced that Senior Director of Customer Solutions David Candler will give a joint presentation at MESA Europe’s annual Hollywood IT Society (HITS) Europe Summit. The session will detail how major sports brands are using the cloud to make their media content instantly accessible to internal stakeholders, global broadcast and production partners, media and corporate sponsors and other global recipients both before, during and after international live sports events.

Candler will join fellow speakers from BASE Media Cloud, a UK company that offers a suite of ready-made cloud services for media companies. Together they will present “Racing to the Cloud — Sports Media Storage and Centralised Access.” Attendees will also hear Formula E describe its own incredible success story, which has attracted a growing international audience and high-profile investment from global brands, and how they are using technical partners like Wazee Digital and BASE Media Cloud to address the challenges of managing, storing and distributing content. The requirements for overcoming those challenges, the solutions identified and the reasons behind the decisions will also be discussed.

The 30-minute presentation will begin at 11:20 a.m. Presenters joining Candler will be Ben Foakes, managing director, BASE Media Cloud; Adam Kemp, broadcast and distribution manager, Formula E; and Ali Russell, director of media and new business, Formula E.

MESA Europe’s HITS Europe Summit 2018 will take place on 20 June at the Victory Services Club in London.

“In the high-paced world of live sports, the ability not only to store and manage assets internally but to immediately share them with stakeholders around the world is becoming more and more critical, but it’s easier said than done,” said Mr. Candler, Wazee Digital’s senior director of customer solutions. “By using the cloud solution from Wazee Digital and BASE Media Cloud, Formula E has proven that the content storage and centralised access part of its operation can be done effectively, affordably and at scale — and others in the sports world have taken notice. People who attend this presentation will hear first-hand how successful the solution has been for Formula E.”

A select number of industry trade press are invited to attend the event free of charge. Interested parties may contact Teresa Austerberry at teresa@mesaeurope.org.

About the ABB FIA Formula E Championship
The ABB FIA Formula E Championship is the electric street racing series and the world’s first fully-electric international single-seater category in motorsport. Formula E brings electrifying wheel-to wheel action to some of the world’s leading cities, racing against the backdrop of iconic skylines such as New York, Hong Kong, Paris and Rome.

The inaugural season of Formula E sparked into life in September 2014 around the grounds of the Olympic Park in Beijing. The fourth edition of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship will see 10 teams and 20 drivers compete in 10 cities spanning five continents in the fight to be crowned champion. Hong Kong hosted the season-opener over the course of two days on December 2 & 3, with the championship coming to a close in New York in July.

Formula E is more than just a race to be the best – it’s a competitive platform to test and develop road-relevant technologies, helping refine the design and functionality of electric vehicle components and speeding-up the transition and uptake of clean transportation on a global scale.

For this season, more manufacturers have joined the electric revolution with reigning champion Lucas di Grassi looking to defend his title behind the wheel of the Audi-backed ABT Schaeffler team. More big-name manufacturers have also committed to race in Formula E — including BMW and Nissan in tandem with the new-look car and battery in season five, along with Mercedes-Benz and Porsche who also plan to join the following year.

WUPPERTAL, Germany — June 14, 2018 — Orange Events, Malaysia’s premier event management company, has expanded its rental inventory with Riedel Communications’ Bolero wireless intercom and MediorNet real-time media network products. With MediorNet providing the integrated audio, video, and data communications backbone, Bolero will enable Orange Events to provide its customers with a fully integrated, point-to-point communications ecosystem and seamless roaming capabilities — critical requirements especially for complex, large media events.

“Our production landscape is challenging and ever-evolving. Our clients require reliable communications and signal transport solutions that offer guaranteed uptime coupled with the best sound quality,” said Blurr Wong, Managing Director, Orange Events. “Riedel’s Bolero and MediorNet offer all of this and more, together with the technology innovation and leadership that Riedel is so well-known for. We are very pleased to have invested in these outstanding products.”

Riedel’s Bolero is an expandable, full-roaming, DECT-based intercom system in the license-free 1.9 gigahertz frequency range. With the MediorNet real-time media network allowing for redundant and decentralized signal routing and transport, the Bolero wireless intercom provides comprehensive and reliable communications for crew and performers at any type of media event. Bolero offers a rich set of features and connectivity that can be applied three ways: as an exceptional wireless beltpack, as a wireless keypanel, and — in an industry first — as a walkie-talkie radio. Bolero is equipped with a high-clarity voice codec that facilitates higher speech intelligibility and more efficient use of RF spectrum, thereby supporting twice the number of beltpacks per antenna for the same audio bandwidth as other DECT-based systems.

“We are pleased to be working with Orange Events, with its outstanding reputation for top-of-the-line equipment and a dedicated, highly trained team of professionals. Orange Events’ selection of Bolero and MediorNet is just one more example of Riedel’s continued expansion across Asia,” said Rajveer Singh, Riedel Communications General Manager, Southeast Asia. “We are confident that our customers will benefit greatly from Bolero and MediorNet’s rich feature sets, reliability, and ease of use.”

Countryman  H7 Headset Microphone

Menlo Park, CA – June 2018… Countryman Associates, recognized globally as a leading manufacturer of miniature microphones and direct boxes, is pleased to introduce the H7 Headset Microphone. Featuring wide dynamic range and a precision cardioid pattern that effectively shuts out surrounding noise, the H7 is a comfortable yet rugged microphone that makes an exceptional choice for location sound, theatrical, and presentation applications among its many possible uses.

Sound quality is the first and foremost consideration with any high-performance microphone and, in this regard, the new H7 excels. The H7 boasts extended dynamic range and a carefully crafted, precision cardioid pattern that remains consistent across the audio frequency range, ensuring uncolored on- and off-axis response and broad reduction of feedback and surrounding noise. Equally important, the microphone’s ultra slim side-address capsule sheds sweat and moisture while maintaining a low profile. The result is reliable performance and easy placement—enabling performers, broadcast professionals, and presenters to achieve clear, natural sound quality that is free from ambient sound sources.

Because of the petite, lightweight nature of a headset microphone, Countryman engineers paid special attention to making the H7 Headset Microphone robust and rugged to withstand the challenges of location sound use and theatrical environments. From the cable to the connector to the capsule, the H7 is Countryman’s strongest, most water-resistant, and most resilient directional microphone yet. Equally important, the H7 is light and comfortable. At less than 7 grams (0.25 oz), the headframe easily adjusts to fit different head sizes. The mic boom, which slides independently of the earloops to place the mic right at the mouth, flips for left- or right-side placement—facilitating the perfect fit. The result is distraction-free comfort, enabling performers, presenters and others to focus on their work.

Several noteworthy additional attributes make the new H7 an excellent choice. To ensure discreet placement, the new Countryman H7 is available in four color tones—light beige, tan, cocoa, and black—to virtually disappear against skin. The microphone also utilizes an advanced water-resistant connector that detaches from the microphone and provides more than 5 ATM of ingress protection. Special attention to the aramid fiber termination in the connectors also gives the H7’s detachable cable more than 35 pounds of tensile strength. With other microphones, a worn cable necessitates the purchase of a new microphone. By contrast, an H7 Snap-On Cable attaches in seconds to adapt the headset for virtually any wireless system or powered interface.

Chris Countryman, President of Countryman Associates, commented on the company’s new offering, “The team set, and then met, aggressive targets for acoustical and mechanical performance and made sure to incorporate some of our top customer requests, including making the microphone easier to configure and use. It’s a perfect addition to the line.”

The Countryman H7 Headset Microphone ships with a 5-foot H7 Snap-On Cable, carrying case, windscreens, black and white collar clips, and protective caps. The microphone carries an MSRP of $599.

About Countryman Associates

For more than 40 years, Countryman has focused on developing microphones and accessories that deliver maximum gain before feedback, with the highest possible rejection of wind, vibration, interference, and other unwanted sounds. The result is warm, clear vocals in speaking and singing applications, delivering natural audio reinforcement that requires almost no attention from the sound engineer or the performer. One-Net™ and DASDEC™ Users Must Update Certificate Before June 24 to Maintain Proper Operation

LYNDONVILLE, N.Y. June 7, 2018 — Monroe Electronics and its Digital Alert Systems subsidiary, the global leaders in emergency communications solutions for video services providers, today announced the addition of new IPAWS Certificate Authority (CA) credentials for the One-Net™ and DASDEC™ series of EAS/CAP encoder/decoders. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) recently issued the new CA to replace a certificate in the current certification chain that will expire on June 24. One-Net and DASDEC users in the U.S. are advised to replace the soon-to-expire certificate to assure that devices configured to require message authentication will continue to operate properly.

“This is an essential update for all EAS gear polling IPAWS, so we are releasing this update file for DASDEC and One-Net users to take action and replace the expiring certs. It’s easy to do,” said Ed Czarnecki, senior director of strategy and government affairs for Monroe Electronics and Digital Alert Systems. “We have been advised there will be several certificate and policy changes through the end of 2018 that will necessitate some certificate updates during this period. We’re constantly evaluating and updating our systems to stay in step with IPAWS, and since assisting customers is our top priority, we are actively working on new methods of managing government certificates with an improved path forward.”

FEMA uses digital certificates called CAs to create a “chain of trust” between an Emergency Alert System (EAS) device and the IPAWS servers. The One-Net and DASDEC EAS/CAP devices use these special digital certificates to validate the authenticity of IPAWS-sourced Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) alerts. These certificates are designed to expire at a specific date and time, requiring the issuing authority to publish new certificates from time to time. In general, Monroe Electronics receives new certificates about one month before expiration, which determines the amount of advance notice the company can give its customers for certificate replacement.

All One-Net and DASDEC customers using the IPAWS system must have the latest digital certificates in place to assure the validity of the communications chain of trust, which prevents a “man-in-the-middle” attack by only processing the messages that are authenticated through the IPAWS system. IPAWS users who fail to update their equipment before June 24 could see the error message: “Event Log:Digital Signature VERIFICATION ERROR : Signer UNTRUSTED! Check for correct CAP decoder CA file.;”

The new field service bulletin and CA file are available now from the Digital Alert Systems website at www.digitalalertsystems.com/resources_fsb.html . One-Net and DASDEC customers should go to the website, download the field service bulletin for instructions, and link to the new CA file.

WUPPERTAL, Germany — June 7, 2018 — To ensure that its high-end communications solutions are at the forefront of current technology, Creative Technology Asia Pacific (CT APAC) has added Riedel Communications’ Bolero wireless intercom system to its rental stock. Known for its innovative application of the latest technology alongside the very best technical and operational personnel, CT APAC tested and identified the Bolero system as a critical addition to its comms solution offering.

“We worked with Bolero on a large-scale arena event just a couple of months back, so the system’s flexibility and clarity are still very fresh in our minds — and they’re great reasons to make Bolero part of our rental stock,” said Marcus Lim, General Manager, CT Singapore. “Bolero delivered an incredible user experience, and everyone was deeply impressed by the quality of the system. Communications is the backbone on which all other disciplines rely. It should be the least of our worries at event venues, and Bolero gives us valuable peace of mind and assurance in that challenging environment.”

Bolero is an expandable, full-roaming, DECT-based intercom system in the license-free 1.9 gigahertz frequency range. Fully integrated into Riedel’s Artist digital matrix intercom platform, Bolero offers a rich set of features and connectivity that can be applied three ways: as an exceptional wireless beltpack, as a wireless keypanel, and — in an industry first — as a walkie-talkie radio. Running over a standards-based AES67 IP network along with Artist frames, Bolero provides a fully integrated point-to-point intercom ecosystem with seamless roaming capabilities.

Equipped with a high-clarity voice codec, Bolero facilitates higher speech intelligibility and more efficient use of RF spectrum, thereby supporting twice the number of beltpacks per antenna for the same audio bandwidth as other DECT-based systems. The codec has exceptional latency characteristics while being very efficient with processing power, providing excellent beltpack battery life and saving processing power for other functions.

“Creative Technology is a premier supplier of audiovisual gear to the entertainment, sports, and corporate sectors,” said Rajveer Singh, Riedel Communications General Manager, Southeast Asia. “That the company has selected our Bolero wireless intercom is a matter of great pride for us — and yet another indicator that Bolero is becoming the first choice for customers in several parts of Asia.”

New Height-Adjustable, ADA-Compliant Carts Meet the Needs of Any User While Safely Accommodating Large, Heavy Displays and Interactive Flat Panels

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – June 6, 2018 — Middle Atlantic Products has expanded its successful FlexView Series line with new FlexView Series IFP display carts that incorporate unmatched device mounting, built-in power distribution, and finishes into a slim, sleek, and sturdy design. Solving the weight, size, and aesthetic challenges of integrating interactive flat panels (IFPs), the new professional display carts are engineered to support IFPs and larger displays ranging from 60 to 102 inches with a large VESA mounting and a robust weight capacity of up to 300 pounds, accommodating even the 84-inch Microsoft Hub. The new FlexView Series IFP display carts will be on display at InfoComm 2018, June 6-8, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, in Legrand’s booth C3683.

View the 14 images of this gallery on the original article

The new display cart lineup is the first on the market available in a wide array of colors, with optional finishes in popular high-pressure laminate (HPL) colors including new textured, metallic HPLs, to allow presentation, collaboration, and digital signage technology to blend beautifully into surrounding environments and to serve a broader range of customer AV needs. With these unique options, the series elevates the aesthetics of foundational AV systems, and can correspond with preconfigured technical furniture solutions, enabling cohesive designs for any learning or meeting space.

“While touchpanels and IFPs are becoming the new standard for education and corporate environments, mounting them can be tricky and the available solutions don’t address the design requirements that are important to end-users,” said Brett Leatherwood, product manager for display mounts, Middle Atlantic Products. “Resolving those problems were at the heart of the FlexView Series IFP design. Not only do they feature secure mounting and robust storage and power capabilities required by today’s most popular IFP displays, they boost the aesthetic standard for mobile AV carts and digital signage solutions with attractive finishes and offer height-adjustable options, making it easy to comply with ADA access guidelines.”

The FlexView expansion offers both fixed and height-adjustable solutions. The height-adjustable cart models are equipped with the company’s e-lift feature and comply with ADA regulations (section 308) regarding reach ranges. The height adjustability from 40 to 60 inches to the center of the display is paired with a scalloped base, which ensures unimpeded access for interacting with the screen up close and at the desired ergonomic setting that’s comfortable for each user.

The system design optimizes each cart model for maximum uptime and reliability with premium storage, passive thermal management, and eight outlet power distribution with surge protection. FlexView Series IFP carts provide unmatched equipment storage with 2RU vertical mounting and a removable, tool-free Lever Lock™ for small-device mounting. Heavy duty, locking 4-inch casters make mobility easy, and the carts’ UL rating ensures the safety of the solution. Accessory camera mounts and soundbar brackets are available as enhancements, as are leveling feet that allow users to convert a cart to a stand quickly. Maintenance of the cart is simple and quick, thanks to easy-access, key-locked doors.

The Yamaha YAI-1 Conference Ensemble Delivers the Best Audio Performance for Today’s UC Applications

HAMAMATSU, Japan — June 5, 2018 — Yamaha Unified Communications announced the debut of a professional audio conferencing solution specifically engineered for seamless and easy installation out of the box into boardrooms and large conference rooms utilizing UC applications. Available only in North America, the Yamaha YAI-1 Conference Ensemble is a preconfigured USB audio system that achieves optimum audio in and audio out for an organization’s chosen UC platform.

“All organizations are moving toward UC applications — even in larger conferencing spaces. While these solutions provide a great way to communicate, they don’t include the equipment or USB audio inputs and outputs necessary to maintain consistent, professional-grade communication throughout a meeting,” said Phil Marechal, VP of business development and product management, Yamaha Unified Communications. “The Yamaha YAI-1 Conference Ensemble meets the toughest audio expectations within these rooms, with all the required components to achieve best audio capture and best audio output while maximizing installation and configuration efficiencies.”

The ready-to-install professional audio system comprises an eight-channel Executive Elite wireless microphone package, two VXL 1-16 PoE speaker arrays, a preconfigured digital signal processor, a five-port PoE switch, Dante AVIO USB adapter, and cabling. Once set up, the Yamaha YAI-1 Conference Ensemble is ready to connect to an organization’s chosen UC platform through a single USB cable, such as Skype for Business, Cisco Webex, GoToConference, Zoom, BlueJeans, Amazon Chime and many others. Ensuring that every participant can hear and be heard clearly, the bundle includes two 16-element PoE powered line array speakers that deliver high-quality audio throughout the room and a wireless microphone system that enables flexible, superior audio capture and stress-free conversation. The system is available in two microphone options: an eight-gooseneck microphone package for boardrooms, or seven table-top microphones and one wearable microphone for presentation flexibility in conference rooms.

Utilizing Yamaha’s advanced audio engineering expertise, the system features adaptive AEC algorithms and dynamic microphone mixing technology that drives the best-in-class audio experience and allows enterprise IT departments to enhance the AV offering in the room with a professional, easy-to-install system.

The Yamaha YAI-1 Conference Ensemble expands Yamaha’s family of UC solutions. From home offices, huddle rooms, medium to large conference rooms and boardrooms, Yamaha Unified Communications devices satisfy the critical requirement of pristine audio for virtual meetings. The company’s YVC-200, YVC-300, YVC-1000, FLX UC 500, FLX UC 1000, and FLX UC 1500 conference phones, along with the CS-700 Video Sound Bar, feature powerful, high-fidelity audio capabilities that combine premium loudspeaker, microphones, and audio technology such as acoustic echo cancellation, ultrawide frequency response, and full duplex support. The result is incredibly clear-sounding audio for video- and audio-conferencing, softphone calls, or webinars with USB ports that make it easy to connect to any PC, Mac, or Chromebook and improve users’ communications experience for whichever collaboration software they use, no matter the room size.
